Workers Compensation Attorney Suffers Work Injury!!!

The lengths that I will go to to relate with my clients.  On January 6th I tore several ligaments and both menisci in my right knee playing for the Snow and Carpio Soccer Team.  The team (which I discussed in a previous post), is a collection of employees, family, clients, and friends of our firm.

I have filed the injury as a work comp claim.  I'm still in the 21 day period that the carrier has to determine whether the claim is compensable.  Luckily, unlike most of my injured clients, I'm able to continue working after my injury.

Although I'm not certain if the claim will be accepted, this injury illustrates the broad interpretation of what can be considered an on the job injury in Arizona.  Although I wasn't performing my regular duties as an attorney, I was participating in an activity that benefitted our firm by the comraderie established by the employees and clients, as well as the publicity that the team generates for our firm.  It will be an interesting experience to limp a mile in my clients' shoes!

The Snow and Carpio Soccer Team!!!

The Snow and Carpio Indoor Soccer Team finished its second season at the Arizona Sports Complex with a stellar record of 3 wins and 5 losses!!!  Not bad for a bunch of 40 year old guys (and Jose and Jesus) who sit around at desks all day.  Of the five losses, only one was by more than two goals in the mens Intermediate league.  If second leading scorer Marco Lorenzana would show up for half the games, we might do better!

Our next season starts this Thursday, December 30th, where we will continue our quest for soccer mediocrity.  The team is made up of employees and friends of the Law Offices of Snow & Carpio, who are much better work injury lawyers than they are soccer players.

Snow, Capio, and Weekley are attorneys with offices in Phoenix and Tucson.  They have represented thousands of injured workers before the Industrial Commission of Arizona.  Give them a call at (602) 532-0700, (520) 647-9000.
